Quotes worth talking about:

"Whatever happens, whatever the outcome, a New Order is going to come into the world...it will be buttressed with police power...When peace comes this time, there is going to be a New Order of social justice. It cannot be another Versailles." -Edward, the Duke of Windsor (Edward VIII), July 1940

Welcome to Young Diplomats!

Have you ever:

  •  wish that you could speak up about certain topics in the government??? for example, Iraq; how Bush lied...etc...
  • of wish you could have a voice instead of waiting until you are 'qualified' to speak
  • If you like to have a voice in places such as the U.N.; NATO; E.U.; League of Arab States, etc... and want people to listen to you.....

Then this is the place for you!

This is a place for you to have say on whatever issue is bugging you! I created this site because, I, like you have the same problem. I would speak up when I was at university and I had a teacher who told me to not speak about any of the issues. I know for a fact that someday I would like to become an Ambassador. The question is, how do you start when you can't speak up? So, this is why I created this site. Please sign up for free: NO JUNK MAIL I promise! Add your questions to the message board; create your own resolution; write and submit articles!

Book / Film Reviews:

Robin Cook:

The Point of Departure: [2003]

I think this book is well thought-out. Robin Cook is a political man with a brilliant mind; he is someone who wants to have a future in politics to look up to.  This book is a diary of the events from 'thought' of the war until 17 March 2003: his resignation speech.

Bowling for Columbine:

[2002]. Michael Moore is famous for writing books such as Stupid White Men and the new book: Dude Where's my Country [2003]

Both are must haves. Michael Moore puts a lot of truth with humour. My favourite chapter from his Stupid White Men book is: White People Scare Me. And in Bowling for Columbine he has for the cast: George W. Bush.

 Book / Film Reviews: (Cont...)

The Soul of Politics: Beyond Religious Right and Secular Left by Jim Wallis [1995]. I had the honour to meeting Jim Wallis recently and I heard him out about the war on Iraq [before it started]. I enjoyed listening to him and I learned a lot. I then bought this book. I read it and there is one quote that I like from the book is "Poverty, by itself, does not generate violence; it's the loss of hope that creates violence".

Wag the Dog: [] DVD: it says "When the President is caught in a scandal just two weeks before election, it is up to the White House advisor to clean up the mess. So, they make up a 'fake' war. I know this film is a little old but I was thinking about Iraq-the questions everyone keeps asking "where are the WMD's" and noting that magazines and press, etc.. is asking for an investigation, I thought this film is a must see (again if you haven't!!!)
