Terrorism and Genocide, is that the same???

by: YoungDiplomats2003@hotmail.com

When one thinks of Genocide, the first four words that comes to their mind is WWII, Germany, Jews and Hitler. That is the common answer. When the word Terrorism is thrown at a person, these words comes to their mind: 911 and World Trade Centre. But what is Genocide and Terrorism? According to www.dictionary.com, Genocide is “the systematic and planned extermination of an entire national, racial, political, or ethnic group.” Terrorism is “the unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence of a person or an organized group against people or property with an intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons. There you have it, two concise and complicated definitions of Genocide and Terrorism.

When I decided to search the two words on www.google.com, I came up with:

Genocide: 1,520,000 results

Terrorism: 10,100,000 results

So would you call the recent war in Iraq Genocide and/or Terrorism? I would call it Terrorism because a unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence of a group of people were against a country with an intention of intimidating governments, often for the ideological or political reasons. I used partially my own definition and partially the definition from www.dictionary.com. Does this mean that those countries [United States, United Kingdom and Spain] that were pro-war be tried at the International Court for causing terrorism? Well, America played this right. It doesn’t matter for United States because they cannot be tried at the International Court because the US is not a signatory. Recently, Spain is trying to help out the refugees while the UK is fighting out where are the WMD’s each day in the House of Commons Parliamentary Debate. Personally, since there were a lot of countries that opposed the war at the UN get a say on the process of the International Court. But here is the problem. It is a little thing called propaganda. This is basically what the world works on: Propaganda. Propaganda is some form of mind-control to make people believe what you say. Like if I say jump, u have to say how high.. and do it. I don't know. I think about how many people could make a difference by speaking up. I was taught to speak up when I have a problem, why is that a problem for the members of the UN to do so and try to death-do-they-part to make it happen? I noticed and I am sure you have, they have become weak people and they break down until they give in. To me, I see the UN; NATO; USA-government: like little children. When will the little children grow-up? The ones that grown up, are the ones that want peace.
